The South Alabama March for Marijuana is taking place on April 20 from 4:20 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Public Safety Memorial Park in Mobile. The event is being hosted by Alabama NORML and Women Against Roy Moore. Organizers are collecting donations via a Go Fund Me campaign to help cover the costs of the event, with any additional proceeds being donated to local schools.
Live music, voter education, petitions and artistic demonstrations are just some of the events planned, according to the South Alabama March for Marijuana Facebook page. Anyone that donates to the event will have their name featured on the event’s official banner. Canned goods will also be accepted to help benefit local homeless programs if monetary donations cannot be made.

The goal of this even is to increase awareness regarding the benefits of medical marijuana. Families that have been affected by the current marijuana laws will tell their stories as well.
