Researchers Conclude That Marijuana Users Have 20% More Sex

Sex Marijuana

A new study from Stanford University suggests that marijuana users have more sex. The study, published in Stanford Medicine and The Journal of Sexual Medicine, used data from 50,000 American marijuana users’ habits for 12 months and sexual habits for one month.

The study’s results show that marijuana users have more sex than non-users, reports Esquire. According to the study, males that were daily marijuana users had sex 6.9 times on average over the one-month period, while non-marijuana using males averaged 5.6 times. For females, those who used marijuana daily had sex 7.1 times in the one-month period, while non-using females averaged 6 times.

Dr. Michael Eisenberg from Stanford University said, “In other words, pot users are having about 20-percent more sex than pot abstainers,” and “I think if you asked a man or a woman, 20 more times to have sex over a year, that would seem like a lot.”

The researchers did not include why marijuana users are having more sex, and previous studies have contradicted these findings, stating that marijuana use inhibits the performance and enjoyment of sex for some.
